Reverend E.W. Sprague also worked on classifying mediumship. He had stated he was “born a Spirit medium and went through a prolonged development of his psychic powers…”  He also divided mediumship into two classes – physical and mental phenomenon. Mental mediumship can overlap with physical mediumship. The nature of mental mediumship is described as subjective. This is because it applies more directly to the intellect. According to E.W. Sprague, there are 10 different types of mental mediumship phenomena.According to E.W. Sprague, there are 20 types of physical mediumship.
